I have just returned from working on the wellness team for the 2012 Golf US OPEN at the Olympic Club in SF under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Poplarski. My work there is done unless I am called back, but the manual therapy goes on as the rotating team of practitioners continue to provide care throughout the week!
Dr. Poplarski, Brendan Glynn and their crew organized and managed the wellness team with enthusiasm, respect and professionalism. I worked along side four physical therapists, six massage therapists, a rolpher, and three chiropractors all of which provided soft tissue based manual therapy.
I was there beginning Monday and worked on some caddies, pros and volunteers and all were extraordinarily nice people. What a great time I had working with these high level athletes who present with specific soft tissue issues and are experienced in getting massage. They were clear about what they needed and that allowed me to do a lot of work in a forty five minute session.
It was an intense schedule but well worth the effort, time and participation. I saw six people in the caddy tent, seventeen people in the volunteer tent and made a new BFF massage therapist from Clayton Ca, Hello Kathy Woods!!
I walked the course at the Olympic Club with my husband Doug and the on site perspective is impressive. It is over the top hilly, curvy, windy and just plain difficult….even to walk. Wow!
There is still much golf to be played and I am going to enjoy it from home with Doug while on my mini stay cay!

And lucky them – to get an awesome massage from you!
Thank you Sharon, I have to say they were all very humble and appreciative of the bodywork.
